Questions?? Wires & battery connectors melting...........

I have a electric Team Losi XXX S with a Noval1 Super Rooster ESC with a Speed Gems 2 motor. as the battery heats up, the wires and connector gets really hot and begins to melt. I get about 5 minutes before this happends. Seems like the more mah, the sooner this happends.

I've replaced the connector and took apart the esc to see if anything was out of the ordinary...but no change!

Im fed up. This is my first rc car and Im really anxious to play with it. Please help.

Thanks

1st, you should post this in the Electrics forum.. not the tech site. wrong post thread area..

2nd, what type of connector are you using? if its the old tamiya style.. yea, those will melt like butter. get deans or traxxas' new style or something for a high load rating. And also make sure all of your wiring is good, no cheapo hard thin crap.. good noodle wire or something similar.

All good info. IF you have a quality hobby store they should be able to solder up some ultra deans conectors for you. It sounds like the current load is to high for the conector. or maybe the battery pack if it is a really cheap pack.

Novak Super Rooster ESC with a Speed Gems 2 should not pull that much unless you have it geared to high (big pinion)

I would post this in the Electric onroad forum and see what you get.
I'm a elec. offroad guy. So I do not know much about the onroad cars.

Good luck

Thanks guys. Will do. Yeah, I think I have the cheap stuff. The car is pretty old. It has Novak Superflex wire but Ill see if I can get some better connector.

Just to be sure, Im talking about the connectors that connects the battery pack to the car.

Oh, and I have some 3000mah Orion Super Duty 7.2V batteries.
