All -

I'm also a member of corvetteforum.com, which was purchased by IB in the recent past. I have to tell you, you RCT folks are incredibly nice compared to the reception they received over there. The changes did include advertisements that appear on the first post of a thread. Initially, the advertisements included animated objects. The first happened to be an advertisement for the Dale Earnhart movie The backlash was immediate and fierce. IB reacted quickly, and in my opinion, properly in removing the animated addy's. The transition, since the initial fracas, has been pretty good. There are ads on the first post of a thread, but they don't eat much bandwidth. The site is more stable since the change. Some people left the site, but most stayed. All-in-all it has been a positive change.

Keeping these sites active costs money and time. Whether we like to admit it or not, the innocent world of the bbs is long gone.

I hope that IB has as much success here as they have had on their other sites. BTW, go to their homesite and look at their BoD if you want to see if they're serious...

Default Big Change

Greetz to all from the R.O.C.K ...Radio Operated Cars Of Kelowna . This Forum has been a kick**s way to stay in touch with our other racers here in B.C.
Props and thanks to Shawn for all the hard work he has put in to keep this community alive . I trust that things will continue to be innovative and easy for the old timers and the noobs... me= noob .
Also thank you to Shawn for being forthright and honest as far as the changeover . I'm sure other forums wouldn't have had the stones to make such an announcement , It's nice to know that this forum will go forward and continue to provide racers with the info and interaction that is vital to keep on the *edge* of racing ...

(insert std grovelling lines here)

I would like to see this site no longer using adclick and doubleclick for its advertising windows,, both of these services put tracking cookies on the computer of those who enter the site, sometimes they can be quite a pickle to remove as well.. not to mention they are the main reason for slow page loads that affect us all more often than would be overlookable (while it is loading the above mentioned items on the computer)

Hope this is taken into consideration.

Just in case the notes are falling into a mailbox nobody checks, we'd like to run a few banners again, so drop us a note.

So if somebody has time to contact us on that, that would be nice.

Thanks,

Boy you can say that again, I feel like I got dial-up. Some days it has even taken almost 5mins to load a page. This is the only website doing the stuff as well. Maybe if these forums weren't so popular it wouldn't be a problem.

Peace Aaron(W-W)
