Cloudflare verification

Is it normal that I keep getting prompted every 5 minutes or so by Cloudflare to verify I'm a human when using this site lately? Seems to have started in the last day or so. It's rather frustrating.

DirkW 11-13-2025 12:41 AM

Same here. Started yesterday after a server error message.

petersen114 11-13-2025 04:51 AM

I only got the server error.

JSHuiting 11-13-2025 08:33 AM

I'd rather have the prompts than the bots tbh

DirkW 11-13-2025 10:12 AM

It does get a bit annoying though. Such a prompt (if reliable) would be nice at sign-up, that would be enough for most bots (other than hacked old accounts), wouldn't it?

I was actually Tikvido.com using to downloading some TikTok videos, and the constant verification pop-ups really slow things down. Hope it’s just a temporary glitch!

But you come across as a spammer with your tik tok bs, So Seeya!!

With the conclusion that the check does not work......

It will never work against manual spam by a human. If it works against a majority of bots, that would still be an improvement.

I'd rather see a daily spam post than deal with a verification interstitial every 5 minutes.

Same.

Haven't heard anything from the admins. The admin/mod forum is pretty dead.

All the higher ups are on vacation or maybe it’s parade day or something 🤷🏻

And that's where we come in when we spot a suspicious post like Tikvidos's. We report, they get removed if found guilty.

The current setting is annoying, yes, but I hope there's some room for a more sensible adjustment. Let's see what Katherine will say, when she drops in here. I can live with the inconvenience for a day or two.

IBkatherine 11-18-2025 08:24 AM

Just getting back from being away since Thursday, I can ask tech, but definitely being prompted by cloudflare every 5 minutes is not regular. I'm wondering if it is because of Cloudflare themselves, and the issues that have been reported today. If anything, I have to suggest to clear cache and cookies, and see if you all keep getting prompted the human verification.

nitrous36 11-18-2025 09:43 AM

It's cloudflare themselves.

Cloudflare sucketh.

Roelof 11-20-2025 03:47 PM

So I typed a long time for a post and when try to post is it did not do a thing. Meanwhile on another tab I was browsing over the forum and needed to check the cloudflare checkbox again. The post was still trying and when I did again hit the button to post is it did post my reaction. Very annoying.

Can you please try clearing your cache and cookies for the site, and then see if you have to keep verifying

Roelof 11-24-2025 10:22 AM

After clearing cache and cookies stil got the cloudflare tag box

Cleared cache, site data, tried from multiple different devices. No change, still repeatedly prompts.

IBkatherine 11-25-2025 02:23 PM

Are you using a VPN? Can you also try this in a private browser?

Roelof 11-25-2025 03:29 PM

No VPN and in an Inprivate tab I also get the cloudflare checkbox

Can you please try restarting your device as well?

Roelof 11-26-2025 08:45 AM

Machine has been rebooted after some updates, I also tried a different browser and still got the checkbox. Maybe it is because I am from Europe and so a different cloudflare server?

It could be. It's odd that it's still happening even in a private browser. Cloudflare verifications happen because it thinks it is protecting the site against a potential bot. So something with your IP address is probably tripping it up. You could try a VPN- which is oftentimes the thing we tell people to turn off when they get a bunch of verifications. But in your case, i'm wondering if it will fix it.

Roelof 11-26-2025 01:59 PM

Gigaplex is also not living in the US and experience the same thing. I will not try a VP, I will just wait until this goes over but maybe your hosting provider can tell more or talk with cloudflare.

gigaplex 11-26-2025 10:45 PM

Private browser: verification issue persists, and prompts far more frequently because it doesn't maintain the verification cookie
Restart device: verification issue persists
No VPN from Australia: verification issue persists
VPN to Sweden: verification issue persists
VPN to UK: verification issue persists
VPN to US: no verification required

Seems like it assumes everyone outside the US is likely a bot.

Roelof 11-27-2025 09:56 AM

Last week Cloudflare had a huge issue that probably is not completely solved Cloudflare Status

This verification thing started before that outage.

Yes, several days before, IIRC.

Mac The Knife 11-28-2025 04:29 PM

Strange,,,,

Roelof 11-29-2025 05:58 AM

The moment I posted that there was a message with region issues.

DirkW 12-01-2025 10:29 AM

rctech is the only site I have this issue with, so my guess lies with them, not cloudflare - but it's still just a guess.

How often does it happen for you?

Roelof 12-01-2025 03:02 PM

Within I think 30 minutes the session is over and I need to check the cloudflare checkbox again.

DirkW 12-01-2025 03:48 PM

I have no idea about the time it takes - might be 5 minutes or 15 minutes - I really can't say. But it happens every time when I come back to rctech.

nitrous36 12-01-2025 04:32 PM

It's funny it thinks you guys are bots, and not the actual bots. Jesus christ.

Roelof 12-02-2025 02:23 AM

Well "bot" as a Dutch word means rude, that can be right.

At this moment the forum is very slow.....

IBkatherine 12-02-2025 09:38 AM

Cloudflare verifciations have been tweaked, everyone in Europe, you should be getting less now.

DirkW 12-02-2025 11:46 AM

So far it appears to work.
