Default re-4 yr old setup

Hi, I can tell you what seems to work for my 3 yr old grandson. He is using a bone stock Losi miniT. It is using 4AA batteries so it is not too fast but still climbs hills and the stock radio is small and light. I am surprised how fast he is picking up driving skills. We will be racing each other be the end of the season...

what exactly does "cheap" mean? I have a ton of stuff that I could let go for "cheap," but how about a price range?

50-75... I know that probably won't get me much, but I figure anything is possible... Though I suppose I could try to rebuild my slash, sc10, and mini Ts, but I haven't touched my stuff in over a year...
