Axial came into the RC market with its line of nitro engines with the .12RR Spec-1 in 2003 being the very first and most rare of all Axial engines. This engine was designed by a German engineer who toleranced the piston/sleeve to work best at temps in the 280-300 deg range. The machining and construction of this engine are unique and unlike any other Axial motor made. Axial even made a very high quality tuned pipe set (AX0550) with 3 different headers for: high speed, med. torque, and high torque profiles.
