I have a few questions about the Hitec servo. Is it digital or analog? Are the splines on the output shaft metal or plastic? What connector is at the end?

It is analog. The connector at the end is a standard Futaba, or Airtronics "Z" connector. The output shaft is metal.

According to www.hitecrcd.com this servo has been discontinued and replaced by the 965: http://www.hitecrcd.com/servos/show?name=HS-965MG
