Wife's annoyed, your gain: Kyosho USA-1 VE (electric) - one run
My wife has decided I have too many RCs (there is some chance she's right) so I'm selling some of the new rigs I got over the holidays which have seen very little use. First up is the Kyosho USA-1 VE.
I've run less than one full pack through this rig (too many trucks, too little time). It was a ton of fun to drive even in that bit of driving. Before taking it out, I strengthened some of the areas that seem a little weak based on youtube videos, but apart from the items below the truck is otherwise stock.
Condition:
Chassis: no damage or even scuffs (see pics). Excellent condition.
Body: has a couple of scuffs on the corners and roof. This truck is extremely overpowered on 4s so it flips easily if you're trigger-happy.
Tires: just as they appear in the pics - no wear.
Upgrades:
- Steering - added a Vitavon axle-mounted steering setup ($139). Makes a world of difference. The original steering set-up was a bit like the steering on a tamiya clodbuster - long linkages that went under the entire chassis. Steering with that setup was more of a suggestion than an actual command. Now it steers quite well.
- 35kg steering servo + kimbrough servo saver (no point in having the steering kit without upgrading the servo)
Mods and changes:
- switched the ESC over to an XT90 connector. You can then hook up your batteries in either series or parallel depending on what you're running. I was running two 2s packs in series for a total of 4s and that was quite a handful.
- Axle tube - I glued together one side of the axle tube for added strength. Does not prevent normal maintenance (this seems to be a common mod on other solid axle trucks like the LMT also). One side of the axle was giving me a little trouble so I added an additional screw to hold things together. Also including a complete OEM replacement axle tube ($30) with this truck in case anything goes wrong in the future.
Imperfections:
-Body has a few scuffs
Asking price: $530 + shipping to your location (this is about $220 off the price I paid)
Original prices for everything in this package:
Kyosho USA-1 $529
Vitvon Steering Kit $139
35kg Servo - $30
Spare Stock Axle Tube $30
Spare Knuckles - $20
Servo Saver - $15
------------------------------------
TOTAL $763
Sold as-is, no returns. Please ask any questions. If you want to see something else in the pics just let me know. Took this truck out today for a quick test run before putting it in a box, and it was running perfectly.
Local pick-up in SF Bay Area if you happen to live in this area.
