I am using a Badger No 155 for painting RC bodies with Faskolor and am finding a need a better brush for more detailed paint jobs. What brush would you guys recommend? Thanks

you can get a great deal on a iwata hp cs at hobby lobby locations. use a 40% off coupon its 130.00 out the door with air lube, 4 colors of paint good for practice and a 30.00 iwata moisture trap, about the best deal out. and they have a good resale value if you decide you dont want it anymore.

Recently picked up the .5 conversion for my Iwata HP-CS and made me fall in love with painting again. So much easier to shoot createx/faskolor with the .5 needle.

I like my iwata hp-cr and hp-c plus but should have got the hp-b plus smaller paint bowl better for tight space bodies

I just bought an Iwata HP-CS for painting bodies. I'm just getting back into RC racing. I used to rattle can my bodies and I also had some sort of old airbrush back in the day. You pushed the button and it sprayed. The Iwata is a dream. I just bought three more bodies to paint! It's like a whole other hobby.

I've been shaking spray cans since I was a kid.
It seems to me that masking is the skill, especially for lexan bodies.
I'm no master, my bodies just look ok. But why do I need an airbrush to paint the underbelly of a lexan body. I want to buy one, but...

Im not trying to be a jerk, I really want to learn something. What I'm asking is: what does your favorite airbrush do for you?

Note: I'm not interested in mixing custom colors or fading. I would like to paint BMW M3 type graphics. I would also like to paint 1/16 inch pinstripes instead of using pinstripe tape on the outside of the body.

And I agree that painting bodies is a whole other hobby that is a lot of fun. A new body is almost like getting a new car. Oh yeah

Salinas Hawk, if all you want to do is 2d graphics then you are correct you do not need an ab. the best use for an AB is to provide depth, shading and 3d look to the work, and while possible to do small pins with cans its much easier with a brush.

Thanks for the info. I still want to play with an airbrush though. I was hoping for somebody to talk me into buying one. Hahaha

The Aztek airbrush kit was great as my first setup in airbrushing. Did not enjoy the tips though.

I tried the Iwata HP-TH over the last weeks...

I use it in combination with revolution CR, Hi-Line BH and so on. It is amazing!!! super even coats and super fast for big areas. I love it!

TH for big areas
BH for small details
some CRs for Black, white and the standard-stuff.

The Iwata Eclipse HP-CS which I use is great. Used it on the one Slash body a did, no shading done to it, but provides great flow and control. Done about 6 airbrushed designs on cars with it as well. New to the RC painting business, but I'm used to it on automobiles. But it's easy to learn and use. Can Achieve great detail as well.

I'm a bit late to this thread, But I have used airbrushes for a couple of years and can highly recommend the Harder & Steenbeck Evolution. Cracking bit of kit. I preffered it to the Iwata.
