Default Windex To Position Paint Masks

I am curious if anyone uses Windex or another "lube" to get masks into position. I recently got a hobby vinyl cutter and I am about to do a new body with some complex masks, it would be much easier if I could "float" them into position. My concern is if the Windex or other agent will prevent paint (Createx/Faskolor) from sticking even after the agent has evaporated. I guess I could try water but I have used it in the past to position decals and it doesnt work as well as windex.

Any other tips or tricks?

use dawn with a little water. Let dry and gently wash after to remove the dawn.
