chrome paints
I've been looking for a good chrome paints. Was wondering what you guys were using. My Local shop sells some but I think it;s been on the shelf too long when I tried painting with it, it layed out like crap.

What did you use? Spaz stix and alclad both make excellent chrome and I've heard RCS makes a great paint although I've never tried it. Also, are you airbrushing or rattle canning it? And... by laid out like crap, what do you mean?

I use both Alclad and RCS, both are very good.

I use mostly Alclad, just because it is available locally. I have used quite a bit of the Spaz Stix Chrome also and didnt really notice any difference in performance between the two. I would recommend using a pre-prep before spraying either to get a nice even finish. If you cant get one, rubbing alcohol will work in a pinch.

Perhaps some more info would be usefull here, spray can or ab? Can you explain the results or post a pic? Yes it could have been a bad bottle/can but thats not the most likely reason for poor results, as to your question if your using an ab I highly recomend RCS chrome.

It's airbrush paint and it was RCS I talked to the guy at the hobby shop he said they had a few guys complain about it not laying out with a even finish almost like it was cut with water in and flaking off after it dried. I'll try and post some pics when I get a chance. They were going to order me another bottle so I'm gonna give it another crack. and see how it goes.
