Default Advice on a Air Brush Kit

I am looking to get a air brush kit to start doing my own bodies.

I am not looking to be a professional or sell my work.

Would something like this be ideal?

Could anyone suggest something similar? I don't really want to break the bank.

I've never used one of those brushes, but several here have. Looking at reviews on the 'net- they're hit and miss.

Looks like that setup will do you well if you plan on using solvent based paints only. Those brushes have small nozzles and will not like the waterbased stuff too much. You can use WB paint if you thin it down.

Then you can use the single action one for spraying backing colors or faskoat.

Thanks for the feed back. What would you suggest for spraying tips? I can get a decent compressor for $60 buck off ebay but I will not mind paying a little extra for the brushes if you could point me in the right direction.

Iwata Revolution is what I've recommended for this for R/C for nearly 10 years. Large paint cup, .5 mm nozzle- it's a real work horse. I used to be able to get them for $45 shipped from dixieart. Iwata has caught on and they are nearly twice that now.

So this is the one I ended up ordering. I can always change to a new brush right cause the compressor will work with all of them?

yes, compressors are universal. Some don't put out the unnecessary pressure for all paints.

However, in their infinite proprietary greediness, manufacturers decided to use different connectors for their hoses/ brushes. I think those brushes use the same connector size as Iwata, but not all brushes do.

so the following paints work just fine with this unit with out having to thin it down?

If I do have to thin it down what product works best for that?

Sorry to be such a pain but better to ask before trying and ruin the stuff.

Parma PSE
Spaz Stix
Pactra
???

I use Master brushes for all my bodies. You definately want to get the .05 tip if you are spraying WB's. Keep them clean and they will treat you right.

if you use Spaz Stix and Pactra, make sure you have PLENTY of ventilation as these are laquer paints, if you use faskolor and createx ,make sure you have plenty of ventilation but faskolor/createx are non toxic but still you want ventilation...i even wear a paper dust mask just in case, lol

some people use the faskolor/createx straight, i cut mine with a little req windex....fill your cup a little and give one or 2 sprays of windex real quick, put cap ob cup n give it a quick shake this works for me use windex n water to clean between colors..this is for using water based paints, acrylics

if you use spazstix or pacra you r goona have to use laquar thinner n it smells
