Default Faskoat and humidity...

I use Faskoat mainly as a backer when I use chromes. Since the weather warmed up I noticed it doesn't really harden like a rock like I remember but feels plastic-ish...almost like when you rub your hands on a semi dry painted surface even though it has cured for a few days.

Have they changed their formula or is it just because it's humid now? When I touch the inside of a shell, I like when it feels like glass...not rubber.

Any recommendations for coating the inside of a shell that WON'T effect chrome finishes besides Faskoat?

I did a test where I used faskoat to just seal the chrome then then used what I normally use Rustoleum Crystal Clear.

Do a test piece and see how it works I had good results.
I stopped using Faskoat for the reason u mentioned as it was really messing up my window trim lines.

Well yeah. But after the body is all painted up and you want a final seal is what I'm talking about.

Enamels dull chrome even after several layers of paint after it.

Ive been using auto-air base coat sealer, it works great to me and others say it takes a beating and has stayed on for years. I have a nitro body Iv been running and no problems.

Ya know...I have some of that but felt it might not be good enough for RC cars. I'll test that out.

Mirror chrome is very non-adhesive. It will pull away with no effort at all. I use VERY light coats of black to back the immediate chrome...making sure not to have the black build up taller than the mask.

When using faskoat I always use a hair drier on low to help get it started drying. Mine likes to dry really slow as well, but have noticed if a person wants it to dry quick, a hair drier works wonders.
