Requesting assistance
I am new to painting and designing schemes for lexan bodies. However, when it comes to aligning body holes (i.e., post holes, exhaust port holes - Nitro pipe, etc.), I seem to lack in getting that perfect alignment. Usually takes 2 times before I get it close. Then I leave two holes for body post positions, which looks like garbage. If anyone has any "tricks of the trade", please reply. Thanks!!!

I use another method when the bodies are already painted.
Put the body on top of the car and align it very very well.
With a small flashlight (like a maglite) through the wheels (better not be aerodisk ) point to the body posts.
You'll see on the outside a perfect shadow of the post that starts right on the middle of the post.
Mark it and voila....
Perfect all the time.

BE PATIENCE my lad.
MOUNTING IF THE FINAL THING YOU DO....
think of it again...
THE FINAL THING...
MOUNTING and CUTTING HOLES....
WOW...
THE FINAL THING THAT U DO...
THAT PRESENTS ALLLLLLLLLLLLL the hard work u did for the paint job...
YOU WRONGLY CUT THE HOLE... ur paint job is GONE
YOU WRONGLY PUNCH THE HOLES for body post... ur paint job is useless....
SO... be patience,
a lot of thing u can do to mount.
as being said....
PRE-SPRAYING ur body. try to align the body in center and also look carefully at the WHEEL WELL. remember... CENTER the body and look at the wheel well.
or you can use the torch light method effect ...
i have done both method.
BUT BE PATIENCE... my lad.
its the final thing u do for your beautiful painted body.

When I am doing a body for myself, I put the uncut and unpainted body on the car/truck, and use a permanent marker to mark the locations of the body posts, pipe exit, etc. Then after painting, you know where to make the holes.
If the body is pre-painted, you can use the flashlight method described above, or put a small dab of paint on the top of the boy posts and then put the body in place and lightly push down on the posts. When you remove the body, the paint marks the location you need to make the holes.
