Pactra...WTF!!!
alright... here's my little rant...
So I painted a few bodies for a friend tonight, no big deal.
Problems started after the florescent blue. I went to back it with some white as always, but the can I grabbed was one of their new cans (In case you missed it, they updated their look.) Apperently they changed the mixture of paint in the cans too. Using the Sprint White, it took me about 3 coats to even see it! Usually it hits way too heavy.
I thought I had a crap can of paint, so I grabbed a second, SAME THING!
Anyone else have issues with the new pactra cans of sprint white?
So anyway.. After all that jazz I pulled up my masking tape. I used a brand new roll of 3m blue painters tape, for "delicate surfaces". I've used it before with great results, but not this time. It left sticky residue all over the body ARRRGGG.
So after getting over that, I went to airbrush some candy purple along the masked edge...NEVER going to use that color again! it clogged every siingle pass, I had to feather the needle to get it to come out, which makes for a really inconsistent line.
I'm not new to painting bodies, but these two kicked my but to the ground!
OK, Rant over, will post pics later...

Did you buy both cans from the same place on the same day? It's possible they had a bad batch. I have had a few pactra cans hardly spray any paint. Make sure you turn the nozzle to the colored dot on the rim of the can. You can also try letting the can soak in a bit of hot water for a few minutes. Don't sub merge it, but let it stand in a bowl with the water about half way up the can. Then shake it well again.

Can you tell me if those new cans of Pactra say "Made in U.S.A"?
I run a list of RC products that are and if they started making their paint elsewhere I need to know.
Thanks!

They actually turned out ok, but just a pain. imagin having to do like 20 passes to get good color, actually it took the whole can to do a truck body and a buggy body, ridiculous!
Oh, and they were for Kyosho driver daniel lea
Yes, same place (I work there). Thats why I grabbed a second can, just in case the first was crappy.
I'll try the nozzle thing. I did hit them with a heat gun after the first piss poor passes, so I don't think the pressure was an issue.

I have gotten some bad cans once in a while. Mostly silver and blue will spray in chunks of color and base material(clear).
I shook the true blue cans I had, so much one time, the bottom was dented all to heII!
The Tamiya spray cans seem to work well and cover a little better too. They are also compatible, so I have been playing with those lately.
