well,... my take on the AE86

1. It looks dated and not attractive to most novices and non-drifters,... so if you drift badly,... nobody will notice you that much,... and consider it as a "common" thing (Imagine if you drive a cool flashy RX-7and hit the wall on the very first sweeper,... oh,... the shame...)

2. a great excuse for losing races or drift (car is not aerodynamic for touring,... car is too old to drift,.. old parts will break easily ) and many other excuses...

3. "The embarassing effect",... if you do good with an AE86,... the ballpark is yours,... feel free to insult or degrade the losers w/ newer and more advanced shells or chassis

4. In r/c, winning is not the main goal for some people,... winning uniquely worth 1000 times more,... ever win an open 1/10 race w/ a truck shell?! if you do, you'll know how it feel,.. hehehehe....

I myself use the least favourable(and older) cars and shell (both in real life and w/ rc,... (having a modified old Galant in real life helps )

btw,... any of you seen any Mitsubishi VR4 rc shells ever produced?! any year will do between '91 to '01, will buy at high price

oh yes,.. one more thing about the AE86,... body panels are indeed really cheap,.... can buy both doors, front fenders and the engine lid for the price of one RX-7 door,... you do the math,...

Do you have to trim the rims to fit the pvc or is there a size that slips right on?
Do you ever drift with gas or is it only electric cars?

Hello Ben,

Preferably use 26mm rims, cut the pvc to rim's diameter and slip it in. If it don't fit, sand the outer rim. If it's loose use double sided tape to hold the pvc.

I ran it on EP cars.
