Default Tamiya F350 bumper painting question

Ok, i just got done ruining the bumpers for my tamiya F350. I used 4 coats of liquid mask to mask off the areas i don't want painted. I sprayed the semi-gloss black with my airbrush. everything looked great until i went to take of the liquid mask. it wouldn't all come off at once and left behind a little residue on the chrome part. i made the big mistake by using denatured alcohol to remove the residue which clouded up the chrome. i ordered all new bumpers and i'm wondering how others have succesfully painted their bumpers.

Thanks, Brandon
