Do I need to to sand the inside for the paint to stick.

need to... no. I never do.

Some guys think it helps the paint to stick. It's more important that the surface be clean. Use warm water and dish soap, denatured alcohol, or my favorite: Spazstix Surface prep (it smells like Fundip

)
