I prefer to weather my bodies the natural way; bouncing off walls and other competetitors

Do a YouTube search on weathering plastic models. The technique is the same for lexan bodies.

There was a couple guys in Ft. Wayne that had the best rust buckets I've ever seen. They used some chemical they got at Michaels to actually corrode the lexan. It looked exactly like rust.

Here's the video they showed me:

The product name is shown at the :21 mark.

There are a couple good ways to do this. some use a primer color or two on the inside. then apply the body colors scheme on the out side.

The method I do and use it for on and off road bodies. I do my body color on the inside. Then sand; and apply your stickers. Then apply a light coat of the primer colors of your choice. Sand that when dry. Then finish with a flat clear to kind of protect all that.

Some people like to scuff. I tend not to on candy colors, but on solids I might. I just don't like scuff marks in the translucent colors. I don't use sand paper, but Scotch brite.

If you scuff do so before painting.

I LOVE my J71 body, but I HATE the two piece nose. Isn't there some way to make the tail end the add on piece like some of the HPI bodies?

You can buy a brand new 1964 Mustang! Yep, all new with a few "improvements" along the way. So, is it really a 64 Mustang? Dunno, but I think it's a cool thing for this company to do.

I would own one. Notice I didn't say I'd buy one. Can't afford it.

Problem is, you probably wouldn't own it for long. The car thieves won't care that it is a replica...

Its called "Wing Joining Tape" and it comes from Great Planes or Carl Goldberg. Most shops carry it. 1", 2", 3" widths x 5'-0" long. Plenty for lots of bodies for about $4.00.

Any pictures showing how this is done?

I cut it to fit in the nose and then cut separate pieces for the top of the front wheel wells. I put lines of Shoe Goo down the length of each strip, about 1/2" apart. I then sandwich the Shoe Goo between the body and the fiberglass tape. I then use a Bondo spreader to force it down into the contours of the body. This helps to spread the Shoe Goo around and also keeps it off of my hands. Makes a cleaner looking piece, too.

Default Chrome bumper paint

Hi I need some recommendations on which chrome paint looks the most realistic.
Is there any special prep?
What is the proper way to apply it?

Also Indy Hobbies I saw you painted a orange 70 boss mustang.
What brand of paint was it and the color name?
Thank you
