Gave the Testors Decal Maker a try for the stripes. Wet transfer style decals. Not too impressed.

Cell phone pics at night so pic quality isn't that good. Car is really purple. And the stripe is offset.

Here's the latest creation from Custom Racing Stickers. Still need to drill holes and order white rims.

I think I screwed up !!! Carl was good enough to work with me on those decals but I got sidetracked and didn't follow through. I hope he does enter it in concours.....It's really quite accurate to the original. Having talked to Jocko by phone, I'm sure he'd be impressed too. I'm still planning to have that paint job for a show car my club will use for display's. Carl is just that good.

I was able to get another HPI Boss Mustang body painted can decaled this week.

Not sure if I will keep it or sell it. I've got a couple others to run on my TC3's still before this one. It's airbrushed with Faskolor Orange (3 coats) with a white backing coat to light it up and then black to finish. Looks great and the decals came out perfect.

I'm really happy with this one.

The body looks great, but it has to weigh a ton with 5 coats of paint.

No, not at all...its not house paint dude!

5 airbrushed coats. Faskolor paints require at least a couple of light coats to get a good base color. The neons are even worse. The white is just enough to cover as is the black.

VTA requires a minimum weight of 1550 grams anyway. Many have to add weight to get to their car to legal weight.

But now that VTA has started locally its time to run some cool bodies. Very Tempted to get a Boss 302 Mustang.
Technically, though not run, it would have been a period correct car. Max Kowolski drove 73 falcon.

That turned out AWESOME!!! Looks very similar to the Calypso Coral FoMoCo color. I'll have to start backing my bodies with black
