Thanks. The trim is cut out of the window masks by hand after everything is painted. I shoot it last, so regardless of whether the trim is silver, chrome or black, you have to make sure the rest of the pint job is backed with silver, grey or a heavy white backing, in this case.

The silver rivets are carefully dabbed on with a fresh silver Sharpie marker on the outside of the body after everything is done and the overspray film is pulled off.

The flat black spoilers are shot on the outside of the body, by using the overspray film as a mask. I trimmed the film by hand with an Xacto knife, removed the areas to be painted flat and built up light, thin coats of opaque black.

Start to finish last night, 4 hours total.

I was impressed when I thought it took a few days.
Thats beautiful work Doug. Are you using factory hardware to secure the nose? Protoform usually send some gorgeous anodized hardware for wing mounting so I was wondering how this shell compared.

It's 2mm metric, I think. I didn't have any similar aluminum hardware in my screw cases, and couldn't find any 2-56 nuts. They are steel alloy screws with steel nuts, and feel heavy to me. I'll probably swap the nuts out at least for something in aluminum, and maybe the screws, too.

It's the least 70's looking out of the bunch, but I can't say that I dont like it. I especially like the fade from checkers to blue.

Doug did those meatballs come with the shell or did you have them from another decal sheet? Did you have them made? I have some numbers from a Blitz shell but I think that they will be huge on a VTA ride. They will take a good chunk of the hood and side.

I am oK with the 96 not sure who made them. I am OK with the Hooker headers and all of the other little sponsor badges, but the McCallister doesnt seem quite right on the HPI Cuda does it?
