It's just that it seems most want the design front to back, thru intriquite corners, etc. so tape is very time consuming, vs brushing on the liquid and working on something while it dries a few times.

With LMF you have to apply several coats, for some who apply it heavier, about 3 coats, for me, about 4. But the important things are not so thick it cracks in the corners, not so thin it is nearly impossible to lift off for each color.

I have also been experimenting with using both for some designs, LMF in the tight corners, 3m tape in the flats. Whatever I can do to save some time, .

Just getting into the RC scene, here are the first 3 ive painted so far.

Then my "barricade" replica (Currently for sale, im not trying to sell it here, just posting the work)

And from the barricade project, spawned a barricade hummer for my MT with working lights :P

My next one will be for my Traxxas Slash, as soon as the body comes in. Im going to attempt a more complex design on that one

Blown sv, I use mostly #11's. I have a short handle(cut down with a hack saw) for tight bodies and a rubber covered handle too, for better grip.

A fresh blade makes all the difference. I go thru about 300 blades a year and buy them in boxes of 100 blades, lol.

Nice work...Love Transformers, best movie ever...so far, lol.

wed,
do you use more than one blade per body? I am like you, if tape allows I will do it but I fall into the same delima that unless it is very straigh and towars the front of the car it is time consuming. Where do you get boxes of 100 from?

It is about one per body, sometimes i'll get two done on one blade when I don't hear the dreaded, "Click". lol. Sometimes it takes two for a body though.

I buy them at my local LHS, he orders them in for me, I think from great planes. Duratrax, Hobbico or the overprices Exacto brand.

They range from about $14 a box to $28 for Exacto brand....I don't see any difference in quality so far though.

Either way is better then $3.00 for 5, LOL.

Nice stuff guys!

But, I can't help but wonder...Since Bob has his own place, why doesn't he ever have a girl over and only his buddies?
