Well, I think a lot depends on the camera you have & what kinds of settings it has. In my case, my Sony has a number of different exposure & effect settings that make it easier to get very close to what the object looks like in person. In the pic I posted earlier, the only thing that didn't turn out ideally was some glare from the sun, but it wasn't bad, the colors though turned out very nice(& I think they look even better in the non-compresed file, the one I posted was only 11Kb, as compared to the normal file size of 65-74Kb & in a larger image of 640x480 size). If you experiment with your camera's settings(& maybe with the light source you use), you might be able to get it closer to what you're looking for.....

Got any tips for capturing the true colors with a digital camera?

I'm using a camera with 2 megapixels.

Please see attached.

Try using different settings on your camera. For example: if it has light settings (Daylight, on/off flash, red eye, etc)
Hope this helps

My first official attempt with an airbrush.. Really nothing fancy that couldn't be done with cans. The paint masks were created by me, and the dodge and stratus 3 layer decals were also created by me. It's nice to have a stika machine.. LOL hope everyone likes it. I thought it turned out nice.

Charlie:

Looks great! What brand of paints are you using?

I really like that gold color. How did you achieve that?

Later,

Joe

I have one question about the contest...Does it help for the body to be cut out and on a car, or will that really matter?

RBLOVE--the body is for sale at Revalation Raceway in Montclair, Ca

Joe-I used Createx Golden Yellow and backed it with white. The Dropshadows and streaks are Createx Violet.

AE RAcer-It doesn't matter..all we care about is the paint.=)
