Ray, I use badger 150's as well(3 oddly enough, haha).....You may have the large tip in yours, but even with that I can get down to 1/8th inch.....with the fine tip I can do a hair size line.........well, almost, .

I use only 15 psi also, maybe that is it?..........Jim

WED, what paint you using, Pactra? If you are using Faskolor, what head assembly do you use?

da cookiemonster, I'm using Pactra only. I'll need to give fascolor or createx another try, but I had poor results the first few tires......poor durability and poor adhesion in anything but the best weather conditions.

Any tricks? Other then washing with dish soap and hot water, sanding with scotch brite, etc.(tried those).......Jim, www.jconcepts.net

Default W.E.D. Jim schemes

W.E.D. Jim-

Did you come up with Matt Francis' paint scheme?

Also, what is a ballpark price you would charge to help develop a paint scheme for a 1/12th scale (assuming a person gave you two or three main colors to work around)?

Thanks,
Joe

Hey everyone, awesome work! I have been a LONG time viewer of this thread and really enjoy checking out all the SUPER dialed paint jobs everyone puts out!

Here is a little off-road flavor to put in the mix from a long time viewer, first time picture taker!

Jim,
Try wiping out the inside of a body with alcohol. Even though dishwasing liquid is supposed to remove grease/oil, it seems not to work well- the alcohol will get whatever is left.

I wipe it out again whenever I get the masking laid down/cut out to remove fingerprints from the painting surface

Finished building my Factory Team B4...

Just threw this body on since I didn't have time to airbrush something nice before the weekend race.

I only use washing up liquid to clean the shells, and I get no worries about paint adhesion, but then I paint in the same room as a gas boiler, so it is warm and dry in there.

Joe, No Matt came up with that himself...so he says anyway, LOL, i've been running the drips on my cars since the late 80's after seeing them at a car show. I used to have 3 vertical stripes of red, orange, yellow on the sides and drips up front, with blue in back....Ahh, memories. The scheme I ran was my start in airbrushing my own bodies way back in 86-87. ( man i'm old, ....)

Thanks WVredneck, i'll be giving it another try here before too long.....Jim
