Most likely you applied too much paint per coat, and didn't let the previous coat dry completely b4 removing the mask. I did this a few times when I was learning, always with silver for me, because its so hard to see how much you've applied!

Light layers, and let them dry, a heat gun does wonders here.

Thanks...I was thinking the same thing....I ran into the same problem years ago doing another paint job where I had issues with the silver....I did use a hair dryer but probably not long ebough

The trick is LIGHT coats. You really just need to "dust" the paint on, it shold take 6 plus coats before you cant see through it.

Well Jim, while the paint work on that #88 body is great.
I think you have taken yourself down a notch for the
fact that you would even consider painting a Dale Jr.
body. j/k. Thats almost as bad as painting a #24
or #42 paint scheme. Anyways I'm going to the
NASCAR race in Dover to watch Jr. tear the wrap off of
his #88 car soon.
