Most likely you applied too much paint per coat, and didn't let the previous coat dry completely b4 removing the mask. I did this a few times when I was learning, always with silver for me, because its so hard to see how much you've applied!

Thanks...I was thinking the same thing....I ran into the same problem years ago doing another paint job where I had issues with the silver
....I did use a hair dryer but probably not long ebough

The trick is LIGHT coats. You really just need to "dust" the paint on, it shold take 6 plus coats before you cant see through it.

I think you have taken yourself down a notch for the
fact that you would even consider painting a Dale Jr.
