Default offering help here

I want to let other owners of the losi r8 audi of a driveshaft issue. If you have not had to replace or repair the end that goes into the diffs. then here is what I ran into, this end of driveshaft is different than the otherside. It has a 3 piece fitting that consist of a ring clamp, pin and inner round roller shaft that houses the pin. Why am I telling you this? Well my pin decided to pop out. My car is all stock with only 3 battery runs.
So the ring clamp has a space to remove it this is were the pin flys out, I didnt want to order the part because it comes as a set of parts so what you can do is get any 14.82mm pin or close to it like I did and dremal it down to fit if to long of course. But this is were losi R&D should have made this end like the other side as a one piece T design were theres nothing to fall out. Have a friend who is using a 5th scale shaft that can fit that is all one piece so this will work. My kyosho is also a one piece design so why doesnt losi do this? Now I know people will say losi wants to make money on parts or keep cost down in making parts by designing it this way but in the long run it would be more reliable as one piece. So here is how you can prevent that pin from coming out, put a piece of 1/2 inch wire shrink tube around the outdrive, this will prevent the ring clamp from opening and losing the pin. I have 2 losi r8s. The one with the shrink tubing works great, no more lost pins. Hope this helps all.
