Talking Breaking in a Duratrax Photon Speed 2, 20 Turn

I need some input on this because I am hearing a couple of things about breaking in these brushed fixed motors. I race a RJ Speed Spec Mod car at our track, and one of the requirements is using the Duratrax Photon Speed 2 20 turn motor. At first I naturally broke the new motors in with a motor break in fan and a small load of 3 volts for about 25 mins. That was a season ago. Now I am hearing to break these motors in I need connect them in reverse to cut the fixed brushes in them with a small load like before this should give me a bit more RPM. Looking for some input on what others do and if this process I mention being tried with good results.. Someone let me know.... Thanks!!!
