For the very low maintenance, easy to build, (it took less than 2 hours), and most important, "for the fraction of the cost of 1/8 nito car" In my opinion, is a perfect entrance level low budget car.
Thomas, the designer of the Buri, found the way to ship the kits to the USA fast (around 4 days) for a reasonable price.
He is looking for a dealers Here in the USA. To make the car even more affordable.

Not yet. there is only a couple right now in the US. I own the one that you saw on the vid. But, we are planing to bring them for a entrance level, or low budget class.. The car behaves very similar to a regular 1/8 nitro and uses same tires and body shells, but with advantage that you can use the tires, almost to the rim, in fact, the tires on the vid. Are left overs from a nitro racer. Because the car has no suspension, you can use around 3mm right high, and the chassis is not going to hit the ground.

Buri Racer in South Carolina
I'm very familiar with them and 1/8 scale racing and electric. It been awhile and the only way I'll start again is with an e-car.

Since there is no 1/8 on-road within 400 miles of here, actual track running will have to wait until I can go up North to run the MidWest Series in Ohio and Illinois this summer. I have run the car on the street and on our local banked oval (1/10 and 1/4 scale run there) and it is easy to drive and quite fast enough to be fun!
I hope to show it off and stir up some interest both around here and in the Northern races.

BURI-Racer E1 with shorty Lipo packs
Hi, i just finished an adaption to fix 2pcs of shorty LiPo packs:
100g less weight with this 2s 5500mAh 90 shorty Packs!
I also made a 2nd variation to optimize the weight distribution.
I will offer this soon as an option set.

Tom, I think SMC is working on a short 4S as well, in case you wanted to offer a spacer / adapter plate for that as well. I sent you an email too.

I love the shorties implementation... How much time are you able to run with a 5500mAh pack?
I'll probably order one of this adapter kit when ready... Keep us updated!
