Default Baja Conversion

Hello I want to do a electric conversion to my baja 5b but don't want to spend 1000 dollars on the castle one. I would like to know if there's maybe a different cheaper conversion I don't know about or maybe a different motor esc combo that will fit the castle conversion but does not cost as much. But I would still like it to go 40 to 45 mph as advertised with the baja 5b ss. Any advise would be helpful.

you could try leopard hobby for motors or skyrc. Skyrc also do an esc and both are available from kershaw designs. You can get a top notch conversion kit (chassis parts) from rc-monster.com. I would however recommend getting the castle setup and the best batteries you can. Castles warranty is second to none and they will move heaven and earth to help you out. That has been my experience with them for over 4 years

I recently purchased a new Rovan 260s and installed the castle conversion kit with a HobbyKing 730kv 1/5 scale brushless motor and a Mamba monster max ESC ( the one designed for 1/8 scale buggies and trucks ) I am running an 18t pinion and 55t spur with a single 6s Zippy 8000mah lipo and it has a top speed of 40mph according to my GPS. I have had modded 5b's and 5b ss buggies over the years and this is by far my favorite.
