Hi revzalot,

What kind of help did you need at the moment?
Need help or tips on putting the car together?
Set Ups?
What motor to get?

I am personally not too knowledgeable about that car
but there are a lot of other guys here who does. Please feel
free to ask specific pionts you need help on and we would be
more than happy to answer them in the best of our ability.

About Rams... yes I was there yesterday. Had fun and should
be back there very soon. There are a lot of guys here who run
the Rams-Club

I'm the building stage right now. It's an awesome piece of equipment. Here's some newbie observations on this car:

1. The rear diff is locked and the front diff is one way. From the real car world, wouldn't a limited slip diff help on make this turn better?

2. The wide sponge tires are sweet and should provide great traction. Anyone know of a chemical substance to make them stick really well during a competition race?

3. I've read that all I need is a front end conversion to go to 950R specs. Is it a worthwhile upgrade?

Im a member of Rams. You can check out thier website at: www.rams-rc.com. There are a few serpent users out there and most of them belong to a team called "BBR". Ken Jones, Larry Stevens, Jim Rose, just to name a few are all really helpful guys. Let me know if you have any questions about Rams.

Roger,

Thanks for the link. I will join soon when I'm ready but right now I have some obstacles to overcome like getting this car built and moving. I was looking at the schedule and what's the fun day all about?

Hi,

Does anyone knows Integy setup station will work on 1/8 Mugen MRX-3 or Evolva? Or they are strictly for 1/10 touring only?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...193499219&rd=1

Thanks.

If I'm not mistaking, Integy makes a set up station for 1/10 scale touring cars and 1/8 scale buggies. I don't think it will fit the MRX3's or Evolva's quick release axles. You're best to go with the Hudy set up system for Mugen 1/8th part #108400 for the MRX3. Of course it is more expensive. I don't know which of the Hudy set up systems fit the Evolva.

The " fun race" is a day to test out new set-ups, break-in motors, and experiment with a lot of things that we can't do on a points race due to time factors. They have controlled practice ( 1/10 scale, 1/8th sportsman, and 1/8th open ). Basically, it's a day of practice and learning. Practice runs from 8am to 1pm and you get one qualifier to qualify for the mains. Actually, its pretty laid back. At a points race, everybody is pretty serious cause almost everyone is chasing points for the big end of the year top 10. It gets pretty intense especially when your on the driver's stand with everybody driving thier best to earn points. Some drivier's don't care about the points race cause thier just there for the competition. Anyways, hope to see you there sometime.

Congrats and welcome Sir Revzalot,

You don't really need the front upgrade just drive the car as it is and when you break something on the front end then try to get the upgrade for the front. You can use the old arms with the new front end but then you can't adjust the wheelbase.

The differerence with the new front end is that you can change the wheelbase of the car very easy and the front roll center. Also the new front end is a little easier to work on and the trackwidht can be adjusted more.

The tyres really don't need some chemicals and a rear diff is used only when driving 2 wheeldrive.

I have a 950 with the upgrade set and I love the car. It drives very smooth and fast.
