Plenty of time left in 08 to have a national.
What about Raceway Park in Lincoln, NE?

Awesome track!

Contact them and see if they are willing to host it.

Beautiful track, but what's with the blue?

I talked to Chris (301 Raceway) and he said that he is too busy with the other races, he is hosting the 1/8 national, so he wont host 1/5 this year.

Blue areas are the off track sections painted.

Looks nice, I don't know why they put the boards so close to the track with that much room...

We need to make plans and if it someone doesn't put in a bid soon I don't see it happening....

Anyone know what happened to 5th scale.com?

Here's a question maybe for ROAR...

If we combine 12th and Sedan at the Nats, why can't we do the same for 8th and 5th scales? Track size is relatively the same for both sets of classes.

Just curious

1/8 runs on foam tires, 1/5 runs on natural rubber tires. Traction requirements are completely different for the two.

I like the blue. And I was wondering the same thing about 5thscale.com. It looks like they lost their domain name for some reason. I'll have to call Jim at VS tomorrow. Maybe he knows.

I swear it's the foam that screws up our traction...

I'll ask Chris (301 raceway) if he can bump up the 1/5 scale cars to race first before the smaller scale cars, so that we don't have to deal with the track surface being slippery from the nitro exhaust and foam tire residue.

I don't want to argue or debate, but we run nitro sedan, 8th scale and 5th scale all together each week at The Shoe in MN. I have not heard of any traction complaints from any driver, some even run multiple classes.

HOA even ran a make-up race at The Shoe last summer, successfully.

I heard combining the classes at the Nats would be difficult, I found out that 8th scale sells out and is a full schedule most of the time...

I can only go by what other racers have said to me.

And like you said, there will be no shortage of entrants for the 1/8 nats. That's why 1/8 and touring car have separate events.

I'd like to see a list of potential locations for the 5th Scale Nats posted here...that way we all could lobby to get it bid and run.

I realize that there are a lot of reasons why certain tracks can't or won't run the race, but if we get enough interest, maybe someone could change their mind and give us a race.

I'm in good with my boss (me) and I have reserved time off to travel to a 5th scale national race. I'd even drag along Conner to help fill the field (team orders won't allow him to lap me , even tho he's better than I am).
