Default New Hobbywing 1/5 1/6 Motors

Hobbywing have released their new 1/5 and 1/6 brushless motor line up, along with new versions of the Max5 and Max6 which have a temp sensor for the motors

EzRun 4985 5687 56113_Car Systems_HOBBYWING TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. -

I'm in the market for a new 1/5 brushless setup and came across these, however I can't find any info on the power output of these. I'm only interested in the HW 56113, but it's slightly smaller can @ 56mm including the fins, compared to the mighty Leopard 58113 cans.
I need some info on the power. The Leopards power is 8000watt, if these new Hobbywing's output that then I'm in, even 7500watt I'm in. I like the idea of the temp sensor

Well I found my answer to the power output by downloading the manual. The 56113 is only a 5700watt motor. I'll be steering clear then, especially since the Leo is 8000watt and price wise it's cheaper too

Yeah same, very disappointed tbh. I thought HW would've produced the goods

I'm unsure about the wattage ratings. I think the hobbywing motors might be similar in power. Hobbywing and leopard both have motors rated at 200 amp. The hobbywing is only rated for 8s though, where the leopard motors being capable of 12s gives the higher wattage.

long story short, if you only have 8s the motors might be similar? It's interesting both the 1/5 size hobbywing motors have same current ratings.

I had the old Leopard 58110 950kv in my first DBXLe. It's only an 8S motor yet it's still 7500watt 210amp max. I was running it with a Castle XLX and the data logger said max power 7400watt max amps 174amp

I bit the bullet and bought the new Max5 and 56113 800kv combo today. It's the new Max5 with the temp sensor

I bought it for my new Xmaxx roller I bought on ebay because it's light(ish) but I'll put the motor to the test in my 5iveB brushless conversion. I'll soon know if it is only 5800w as it will overheat for sure

Fingers crossed it doesn't break a sweat, but I'll post back with my findings

Does somebody kowns the electrical configuration of this new 56113 motor, is it 1 turn or more, delta or vye winding and what is the maximum rpm allowed ? Does somebody has measured the I0 and Ri phase to phase of this motor, and maybe it's precise weight ? Thx.

You bought the max5/motor combo with the product number HW38010600 to get the max5 with the temp sensor port ?

OK thx,

I'm hesitating between the max5/56113 and the xlx/2028, how do you compare the two setup in terms of performance, reliability, features, performance/price ratio ? It seems that the hobbywing is well built, ultra reliable (at least the ESC, too early to know how the motor is holding a lot of abuse) but lack some cool features (adjustable bec from 5 to 8.5V with 0.1V steps, logs, telemetry, aux wire, motor timing) even if the motor temp sensor is a very cool one and not available with the castle setup. The castle setup seems more powerfull in extreme conditions but also seems more prone to catch fire (but it also seems that changing all caps with bigger rubycon ZLH as the boater do, can rise its reliabilty somewhat).

The setup is intended to be used in a losi dbxl-e in place of the dynamite setup (the ESC is a max6 and the motor is this one (add h t t p s : / / before the following url) reachertech.en.alibaba.com/product/60685298642-805637246/RT57114_1_6_1_5_rc_car_800kv_long_life_6_Pole_max_ power_5000W_Brushless_DC_Motor.html , verified by myself mechanically and electrically) with madmax giant grip tires and about 60mph gearing.

So what do you think ? Thx !

The Max5 is more powerful than the XLX, and the Castle 800kv is an inefficient, power hungry, over rated motor

Max5 and a Leopard 58113 is the way to go. More powerful, more efficient, more reliable. None of this needing to turn up the timing, the power is all there from the get go....brute power lol

What car is this for anyway??

Thx for your clear as fresh water answer !

The car is intented to rip up my lawn, I dont like to use the lawn mower...to slow and not dirty enough ! lol I really like overpowered rc cars but not without reliability !

Do you have some youtube video with your new max5/56113 setup to see how it goes ? Thx !

Yeah lawn mowers suck lol. What car do you want to put a 1/5 brushless system in????

I haven't got the HW combo yet, it's in the mail. Should be here in a couple of days. Just another thing with the Castle XLX, sure it's got data logging and all, but seriously after maybe having a look a couple of times the novelty soon wears off. Who needs it??
Also it has 2 unnecassary wires, one for the fan and one for the AUX, why??? now for some specs

Max5 - 200amp continuous, 1080amp burst
XLX - 160amp continuous, 400amp burst

Castle 800kv - 7500watt
Leopard 58113 - 8000watt

leopard motor is 700Kv and could have been interesting, but since it is a 2Y 4 poles, it means higher phase copper resistance with 6.4 millihoms and so weaker magnet grade (or bigger air gap or smaller magnet or combination of the three) to be at 700kv, so less efficiency (see, add h t t p : / / fr.aliexpress.com/item/58113-Leopard-Hobby-LBP58113-V2-brushless-inrunner-1050KV-700KV-530KV-4-pole-sensorless-motor-for-large/32831776603.html?spm=a2g0w.10010108.1000016.1.7df8 1cc3zfVCQD&isOrigTitle=true) than castle 2028, for example, that is 1Y 4 poles 800Kv so less copper resistance and higher magnet grade to keep it at 800Kv (if someone have precisely measured the 2028 phase resistance, please let us know).

What I want to kown is the winding configuration of the hobbywing 56113, that is interesting me a lot, datasheet gives the Ri at 4.9 milliohms (not to bad) and pole count at 4, but not the winding configuration. The weight is annouced at 1210 gramms (must be verified), the castle 2028 is at 1230gramms (see h t t p : / / deguno.com/rc-cars/building-losi-5ive-t-brushless-part-2-choosing-motor-esc) and dimensions of the two are the same so the two seems very similar and performance/efficiency should be almost the same if the winding of the hobbywing is also 1Y.

If hobbywing reps read this topic, please tell us...
