Default Sonic V21t Engine bogging

Hello

I have tried to get this engine to run nicely,

When you put the car on the track the engine bogs out when you try put too much gas, tried all sorts of tuning ?

Would you think this issue is a bearing related or dodgy Carb ??

The chap i bought the engine from said it was good , but i had no luck today

I have heard these engines suffer from Carb issues

Any advise would be welcome

These engines like a fat bottom end.

I suggest richening the top end about half a turn, and doing the same for the bottom end. Keep richening the bottom end until it disappears.

Like Nitro asked, does it smoke when its on the stand and bogs on the stand? It could be running to rich. Try leaning it out. Smoke should dissipate.

If it idles ok generally the engine will be OK, make sure it's treated to a nice new glow plug.

Start from factory settings for the engine again, and be careful not to run it too lean on the bottom, Picco engines really don't like having a lean bottom!

I'd suggest contacting DH Modelsport or any of the Hastings for the factory settings if you don't have them, I dunno if you're new to nitro engines but just make sure all the adjustments you make are very small, and that you're allowing the engine time to get up to temperature before tuning.

If there's lots of smoke and it bogs down when you stab the throttle, that means that it's rich.
If there's little smoke and it's snappy when you stab the throttle yet it bogs down then it's too lean.
How's your idle?
