Who's to say RB isn't developing new products as well? It seems, from what was displayed at Nuremberg and posted on RB Forum, they are developing/releasing "new" 1/8th On-Road power. You have made valid points - RB does seem "low key" in On-Road - but, I think that is by choice - not product ability. I think RB is underrated - let's see what 2006 brings.

hmmmm!!!

Bearings

Can someone tell me what size the bearings for my V12 Rody are? I cannot seem to find it on RB's website.

C5 Rody head shimming for 30%

Does anybody know if the C5 Rody is already shimmed for 30% nitro? I heard from one person that it is but the rbproducts FAQ says their 21's are shimmed for up to 25% nitro.

Thanks,
Kel

Anyone remember the RB C3? How was its power and performance? I was offered it at my LHS for my Top engine and I'm wondering if it will increase or weaken performance. The only way to know though is to run the top on 30% as is and compare in the future I guess.

The C3 is a weapon, I still have a C3 Rody Worlds engine. It is still a good engine, it now does service in a 1/8 buggy.

Does anyone knows where to buy 1700-425 engine on the web?

SpeedBump57 03-02-2006 10:03 PM

Rody has always stated that the RB's are shimed for 25% from the factory. Some run them this way with 30% and have no ill effects. Most add the shim!

C5 Rody Modified Engine problems

I have a relatively new C5 Rody Modified Engine and while running in a 40 minute race this past weekend the engine decided to suht down and run REAL bad. Engine temps were kept in the 200 - 210 degree range.

Upon inspection - the piston has broken apart near the skirt.

Can I just order the piston since the engine still has tons of pinch? Where to I send the engine to get repaired ?

Is this a common problem?

Thanks in advance!

Contact the Hobby Shop you purchased it from - they should be able to do the repair. If they aren't helpful - contact Kevin @ Ace (650-632-4057), he'll fix you right up. I would get a piston and sleeve set - kinda risky just getting a piston. This isn't a common problem - sucks that it happened.

Go to the RB site. Read the Forum. Rody makes RB's plans quite clear. RB motors are fast, reliable and tough - Sounds like we'll have more choices than ever. That's a good thing.

Long body or short body?

Hey guys, for the C5 Rody, does it matter if you use a short body or long body turbo glo plug? If so, which one do you use? I would get the RB plugs, but the LHS that I go to only have Novarossi and OS turbo plugs. And the Novarossi's come in a short or long body plug.

Thanks in advance,
Kel

rcracerdude 03-22-2006 04:19 PM

has anyone here tried using ceramic REAR bearing on RB .12 Rody 425? How long did it last? Any performance change? Thanks.

the long and short body are tunning point for you with the heat range of the plugs.
there are + and - depending on the air temp and humity

c6tgf or c7tgf is what i use . depending on the out side air
