all EMX .12 come with balanced crank. if you are looking at picco site, I have to notify them, because that is picture of 2012 crank.

hey Kev, i beg to differ, I do have an EMX .12, and it does not come with the balanced crank. i dont know if there's another version of it,but its very misleading now.

I will try to snap pics of my engine and post it here. but trust me,mine does not come with a balanced crank.

I sent an email to Picco, asking about this situation. I was told that their very first batch of EMX .12 engines were done without the weights.

They then decided to add weights to crankshaft, beginning with second batch. He says your engine does not suffer any lost because of this addition.

So, if nothing is gained by adding the counterweight, then why do they do it?

Same question I'm gonna ask.

Sorry Tq I know you are not a newbie, my reason for not answering in much detail. I did not say there was no gain, “I said there is no lost”, meaning same power as engine with weights. Not until just a few months ago, all .12’s came without weights and were still ballistic! I know you will enjoy your Picco, as it is!

thanks for the reply and effort you put in to get answers from Picco. I finally hit the track with the the Torque and so far so good,it does haf alot of torque.

i kinda have some basic knowledge on 'balancing' of crankshafts and so yea,i do understand there is no lost in performance of the engine. I'm just confused on Picco's decision on the 'balancing', but it is sure for the better. My 2nd Picco is on the way and its the Factory Tuned one, so i do hope its better than my first!

Yes ck960, they are the same rod. You can use.
