teamorion crf 12 engine tunning
need help.
i was using orion alpha crf 12 engine 2008,but no matter how to tune on it,it will hesitate for a while before it move,is it possible because of the patent design effected the respond.i was using 16% nitro.

are you sure it's not too lean? sounds like it

Im not sure which Orion CRF was tricky to tune, but maybe the first one released was hard to keep tuned from race to race.
It would run lean, then too rich, and just when you get it right, its goes the wrong way next race.
The newer series of CRF's don't have this problem from what I've been told, but I don't know any of the dates.

if i am not mistaken 2008 crf is a picco based engine. so follow the rules
of tuning a picco engine, that means make sure the engine is rich on low-end
needle. These engines like being rich on bottom.Also what plug are you using?

i will try to set like what u said.
as i know orion do have some kind of valve fix between from exhaust to the fuel tank,anybody know will it effect the tunning or this engine need this valve seeting.

well.i have the same engine .
with 16% nitro use only 0.1mm shim.
and lean the middle screw 30 minutes.
and lean the low screw.
when you try to tune that engine run ir at least for 1 tank.
what clutch setting are you using?

clutch setting-high rpm engage(because it was low h.p and high rev engine) am i right?

if you have the update carb,yes,1/2 turn in the middle.
try to play with the low tune to see what tune you have.lean or rich.what pipe are you using?

i using the combo set pipe,orion 2647. but i don't get the top end,maybe the track not long enough,the straight line is about 100m with a 40 degree curve at the middle line.the gear ratio now if fix with nova flash is perfect.

well,i use the orion clutch parts.o,7 gap,and 1.3-1.4 tension.
two or one screw in the weights if the traction is low.
for gearing in a rrr 59-16,55-21.
60-62mm tyres.

i just returned from a run.i used a picco 2617 pipe with a crf conical manifold.
16% nitro racing fuel,0,1 mm head clearance and the gearing that i said to you.the car was in fire!much better than the 2630 pipe that i used before.
very powerfull!

yes,i own a kyosho 3r,but orion engine i fix on km hk1,so the clutch spring's tension was difference with kyosho and orion,thats why tomorrow i need to have a try on the clutch setting. also i will try on the pipe,rd logic turbo II,nova 2660 and sirio 2611,this are the pipe i will try tomorrow.
