JP FX .12 or Mugen X12?

Time to retire my RS12 5-port. Anyone know the differences between the JP and the Mugen X12?

Thanks

What did Mugen USA say the difference's are???

http://www.mugenracing.com/

I would go there first... As they are the dist. of the both motors.. If it's not on the website, you can always call... No one know Mugen more then... Mugen...

I have seen a JP FX12 T03, probably the one with all the options(knowing how the driver of that car, he would run the best engine), it is unbeliverably fast! I would probably use the word Ballistic! and the engine is running cool, under 200F, top end of that beast is sick, insanely fast!

But everything has a price tag! just the matter if you can justify the cost vs performance!

Honest, in my opinion I wouldnt do it! (I have had some big ticket engines just to name a few, JP RX21WC R1, Novamax 21 and 12, RB and such but it is not easy to justify how much they are!

I believe the JP FX is like $469, that is even more then a 21 size engine! and now I am running Tawaness engines, STS, very good value more like 1/3 of the cost of a JP, but then the JP is not 3 times faster!

when it comes down to the bottomline, u just need to weight it!

again the JP FX is just sickly fast!

Just my $0.02

Don't know what is that based on.......but seen X12 in action, just a simple 3 port non turbo engine.........will run as fast (or even faster) then my RS12 T5 S1 turbo 5 port......

For 3 port engine non turbo, that is unbelievable fast...probably the fastest 3 port non turbo engine in the market (not comparing to MOD engine)

Everything has a price tag...X12 are around $285 each, not a cheap engine at all.

I've heard from many people that the Mugen X12 is based on the novarossi NS12S3 engine. But the mugen is alot faster.

NS12S3 does not have a chance compare to X12........if comparing stock vs stock.

:D :D :D I'm all grins, I couldn't find a stock X12, so I HAD to get the JP FX12...can't wait to get it on the car!

Hi,

Think the Mugen engine is a lot like the Serpent NovaMega engine.
Those engines are fast and reliable. The Mugen engine has also won a lot of races.

I have seen both of the engines raced, but the JP is that much faster!
It has incredible power, and the top speed is by far the highest I have seen yet in a .12!

This is not only done by JP, a lot of other manufactureres are not building new engines every year.
The Mugen is still the same, as well as the NovaMega, and the R&B.
Engines like a NovaMax, or a IDM are hard to get so there isn't realy that much competition.

I think it's a plus having a carburator wich can be adjusted only on a few ways, like the JP has.

A lot of people have fast engines, and a bad setup of their engine.
This can be avoided by using the JP carb.

A large backdraft of the JP is it's durability.
They are not ass durable as other Nova Rossi based engines.
But wath the hack, most people buy a new engine every year.
