a OD 77 is an extremely hot plug... hottest of the OD lineup....

this is what the Odonnell website says:
ODOG0477 77T High-performance turbo small block race engines Turbo .12 - .28 Medium / Hot
so it is a ALMOST HOT!..not an EXTREMELY HOT plug!

neobart 09-12-2010 12:34 PM

Maybe what O'donnell calls Hot is what most others call super hot.

deadmancourt 09-12-2010 12:37 PM

oh!...ok cool!...welp now i know!:D..WHAT DO YOU RUN ON YOUR CLOCKWORK ENGINES?...THE 99T?

it is the specs say its a meduim/hot plug and for 20 to 30 % i might try this plug out since im running 20% but my question is it says its made for 1/10 engines so whats the diffence if its made for a 1/8 ?

I think Neal runs Picco plugs like the P5 and P6 on the CRE mills.

What about non picco mills. Curious to know what plug he likes best on the B-5.

1. odonnell #100 meduim plug it gives you great idle but does like a too rich of a bottom end setting so they wont last long doing that but they are the cheapest plug around there is a reason for that ;)

I just changed out my 100 last night. It was coming up on 3 gallons in my n21r, including break in.

well i, figure since here in pa is getting cooler than a med/hot plug will be fine and not to metion a meduim doesnt last over a gallon it seems espially the #100 odonnell plug it doesnt like a rich setting too much.

im on my 2nd gallon on my rb s5 with 20% did you notice a perfmance diffrence with the 77 plug like more punch maybe ?

Good Thread, Ran Odonnells 97t in all my turbo motors in Texas 80 degrees plus. Had good luck with them. When it gets colder do you guys get a hotter plug?

i do if it gets around 50 or 60 degress outside it just makes it easyier to start and run with a hotter plug when it gets cooler and cold outside.

Sirio 5 or 6 is what I run depending on weather. Iv had the same sirio 5 plug in for 3 gallons but I'm worried it mite go soon so I picked up some more the other day. I use to run p3 p4 religiously but this year I either got a batch of bad ones or they change the quality cause I wasn't getting more then a day out of them, last race I did I ran p3 n popped 3 of them, 1 each round n ran out of plugs so I had n extra sirio for my extech I put in n it has been a breeze to tune n use for 3 gallons. I won't buy os plugs anymore, no plug should cost more then 5 bucks in my opinion were being so pocket worked when it comes to these things.

ENGINES: NOVAROSSI

FUEL: STARTED WITH ODONELLS BEEN USING A-MAIN BOTH FUELS ARE GREAT LOVING THE A-MAIN FUEL

ENVIRONMENT: NC SPRING 80-90 SUMMER 90-HELL FALL 70-85

PLUGS: ODONELLS
99T WAS GREAT IN THE SUMMER WENT TO CRAP AS THE SEASON BEGAN TO COOL OFF ENGINE WOULD FLAME OUT
97T RAN MUCH BETTER WITH THE WEATHER COOLING OFF NO FLAME OUTS.
77T IS MUCH EASIER TO TUNE THE BOTTOM END.

ALL THE PLUGS LASTED A GALLON. NOT TO MENTION THEY WERE VERY INEXPENSIVE ABOUT $5 A PLUG. PLUGS MIGHT LAST LONGER THAN A GALLON. HOWEVER I CHANGE PLUGS EVERY TIME I START A NEW GALLON. JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME TO NOT FINISH A RACE OVER A $5 PLUG.

97T...Byron's 30%...Alpha Orange head - high humidity here in Savannah GA.
No issues, runs great.

Can you guys tell me which Turbo plugs you can or can't run in certain engines...it was brought up during a practice session and I know I have seen it somewhere but couldn't remember.

i would run a P3 or P4 (P4 runs way better but extremely small tuning window) in the Alpha engines, 97T is a little to cold for Alphas. also you run 30/9 fuel?
