Trinity looses Nova Rossi?

I just copied this from SGrid.

Can anybody confirm?

Wouldn't that be sweet?

"#829 of 834 by xxxxxxxx on Sun Feb 22 20:57:42 2004:

NOVAROSSI HAS FIRED "TRINITY" AND AS OF 2-20-04,THERE IS NO NOVAROSSI
IMPORTER INTO THE USA. GREAT PLANES AND TOWER HOBBIES ARE ONLY SELLING
WHAT THEY HAD IN STOCK PRIOR TO THE DIVORCE. THE "TOP" P5 IS IMPORTED
THREW "PARIS RACING". THE "REX" P5 IS IMPORTED THREW MUGEN SEIKI.BOTH
THE "REX" AND "TOP" ENGINES ONLY ARIVE IN THE USA ABOUT EVERY 2-3
MONTHS,MAKING THEM MORE DIFFICULT TO KEEP IN STOCK. RB CONCEPTS ARE
SHIPPED INTO THE USA ABOUT EVERY 1-2 WEEKS.

tekrsq 02-23-2004 02:43 AM

My prayers have been answered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :D

Motorman 02-23-2004 02:44 AM

It is a good news............when I was in HK about 2 years ago doing my vacation.....picked up a brand new (just came out) Nova Rossi RS12 T5 S1 5-port Turbo engine from a hobby store....I paid $150 US (no friend's discount or speical thing....just walk-in and buy)...

Came back and check the TOWER site....TRINITY selling it for $295.00...............I understand using the HK price is not fair, but, less give them 50% mark ups, still....should be $225 US, which in todays price range, $225 for a almost fastest stock 5-port NON MOD 12 engine is very decent...(like NS3, NS5, NS12, V12, Nova Mega SS 12.....etc, they are all around $220-240 range now)...

Never understand the MARKUPS thru Trinity, but they might thing THEY are the only place to import the Nova Rossi engine.........so they don't care about their mark ups....

Unfortunitely..........they totall underestimated the power of INTERNET..............thru all my friend, whos actually buying their NOVA ROSSI engine thru TRINITY since...? NO ONE.

How true it is!!!!!! I order my Nova stuff from HK. I'd rather spend an extra $20 for shipping than buy from Trinity. Besides, the HK prices are cheaper, so it works out in the end.

From where? site?

Fire 03-04-2004 09:13 PM

that is good news:)

OneSexySi 03-04-2004 10:37 PM

it's about time...sorry, even if trinity makes good motors or whatever...they're such a crooked company.

I think the reason behind it was trinity jacked up the prices way high, and on top of that, they didn't bring in any motor parts...only engines. Novarossi fired trinity probably because trinity wasn't doing what Novarossi thought they would do.

In the end...i say F trinity...thank you

Actually, there's 2 places I have had excellent service with. The first one is RC- Mushroom, and the other is Model Sport ( I think they're German, but not positive). Either way, I've had excellent service from both.

Paris Racing closed up shop, I wonder who is gonna import for NS?

slooookomo 03-16-2004 11:07 PM

Their website is still online!

With the long relationship with Mugen in mind. My guess it would go to Mugen USA. Go Tim! :p

tekrsq 03-17-2004 02:40 AM

Mugen is getting the Nova distributorship, and Jim (from Paris Racing) will carry the TOP line. I've been told, the only engines Trinity has left is Sirio.

Yeeeeeehaaaa:D

modellor 03-17-2004 03:13 PM

Well,

Enough people complain and the empire will crumble. Looks like Nova finally heard all the people in agony:D

stefan 03-17-2004 03:18 PM

The only problem I have with Mugen being the new distr. is that they are also known for not getting stuff here in sufficient quantities and on time.

Also, when I look at the price of their new X12 engine, I'm very concerned about the price situation.

Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

theRED5 03-17-2004 04:09 PM

Stefan, you get the Nut?

stefan 03-17-2004 05:16 PM

Yup, thank you

slooookomo 03-17-2004 10:42 PM

Trinity will still have Picco and Rossi right? Not that they are worth buying!

As to Mugen never get enough stock... Nova/Top/Rex stock are always in shortage world wide. It has to do with how they allocate production with each distributor. They must have ramp up production, lately they are much easy to get hold of.

Josh K. 03-18-2004 08:02 AM

Picco is with Werks now

Prices won't get any better for quite a while. The exchange rate between the Euro & the US $$ SUCKS. That's whay the prices are so high. If you've noticed, prices are considerably cheaper overseas. It's actually cheaper for me to buy stuff overseas and pay the extra shipping to the US than buy it in the US and pay the cheaper shipping. I know this hurts US business, but I have to look out for #1 (myself). Inflation is rising much faster than my pay check, so I have to go where I get the best deal, period.

slooookomo 03-18-2004 04:14 PM

HK dollar is peck to the USD... Hince, USD performance will not effect how much you will pay!

It is wierd, Italian engines are cheaper to get from HK than anywhere in the world! I doubt you can find a better deal even in Italy... Go the global economy!

Yeah, but it helps oversea businesses and from there point of view it's great;)

modellor 03-18-2004 04:20 PM

Exchange rates havent got anything to do with it. The main problem are the shop owners jacking up prices more than needed.

The average model shop in HK only add a couple of dollars to the price they get it from the dsitributor (who also only does the same). The idea behind it is they know they will sell stock faster locally and also be able to shift more internationally so they make more profit in the long term. Maybe if US and European dealers and shops opened their eyes and did the same they would profit more from more people in the hobby.

stefan 03-18-2004 04:22 PM

I drive a VW Touareg.

The exact same car costs $20,000 more in Germany, where it's build, than here in the US.

It's all about what customers in a certain market are able or willing to spend for a product.

I think Nova Rossi is getting the idea right now....

I thing they are missing one important factor which is:

* Importing a real car will have no financial benefit for a person but ordering RC parts from virtually anywhere in the world works quite OK..

This is what's different today, the whole world is basically a LHS..

Don't you love it??? It's your choice!!!

I bought a Nova from the states and pait $270 on tower hobbies, the sme motor here is more than double that. I bought my kit from HK and the same kit here if you can findit is also more than double. The only problem is getting fuels, and anything flamable from overseas. The only thing with this is customs hits you with a wallopping 20 odd percent and it takes a little longer to get anything through customs.

PSI Racing 04-03-2004 05:53 AM

So is it for sure that Mugen will distribute the Novarossi line?

EdwardN 04-03-2004 06:45 AM

Novas destribution

I might be wrong, but from everybody expirience in economic, if destributor been changed, will never bring prices down, realy didn't see it so far. Always prices go up. It is fortune moment for new destributor.
Luckely, my son has no problem with that, only one real problem-Russian post office ( never on time).:D ;)

NOVAROSSI HAS FIRED "TRINITY" AND AS OF 2-20-04

Although not many people like Trinity I recently heard that Novarossi didnt fire them.

Trinity decided to pull the plug. Novarossi made a decision that they didnt want to sustain the loss of profits from the dollar/euro exchange anymore and told Trinity that they would have to fork out another 20% to cover it but Trinity couldnt put the prices up any.
Ernie then tried to negotiate with Novarossi about meeting in the middle and offered to pay 10% instead and after Novarossi rejected Trinity decided not to be the distributor anymore.

spenzalii 04-04-2004 09:56 AM

Where is a good place to get one of the Mugen X12s out of state? I haven't seen any anywhere, and my LHS wants $310 for one...
