So sadly it seems Novarossi is indeed closed for good. At ENS Aigen last week it was confirmed during the event that Novarossi will not be re-opening unless they can get a buyer or at least some significant investment. I'm not sure if they will actually properly announce something online or make a statement - they should do as its the least they could do to say thanks for all their long term supporters and customers over the very many years.
It's really sad but this does seem to prove that the rumours are true. I'm assuming that this darn pandemic was the final nail in the coffin :(

So if any of you guys have Novarossi or Novarossi based engines that you want to maintain and run into the future I would get to buying up any remaining stocks of spares such as bearings, rods, pins, piston/liners etc as it looks like these will end up as scarce as rocking horse manure in short order!

Sad but they did themselves in. I hope someone buys or invest.

Parts are already running low. I really hope an investor with deep pockets will make the investment and take it a step further and retool the machines.

I think a year ago an investor or a buyer would have been far easier to find. I heard rumours of NR being linked to Infinity late last year but with this pandemic no-one is investing in anything right now. Very sad state of affairs for sure.

Who at ENS Aigen conferred this?

Roelof 08-20-2020 05:21 AM

I will only believe it when I see an official anouncement. If I must believe the rumours in the past then Picco was already 5 times closed....

...so... Max Power going to be OS Based soon?

Not a liberty to say publicly however all the Novarossi tuners from Europe said the same thing. All those in the know in Italy and wider Europe have confirmed the same thing.

Roelof, it HAS been closed about 5 times! Back from the brink after further investment......

The Novarossi factory has been closed since March and its staying closed unless the company is sold which given the level of debt they currently have is also unlikely to happen anytime soon. I doubt you'll see an announcement from them if I know her as I believe I do!

Thats my assumption as well. All the big european tuners already have or is going to O.S. based. At the end of the day what other choice did they have really? What worries me is the price of OS stuff whilst already expensive will start climbing in price in the not too distant future and they now have zero (real) competition.

seems like somebody needs to convince horizon to buy them. BTW since almost everywhere is sold out of glowplugs were all all up schit creek

Yeah seeing as they are buying up everything else! The Proline buy out has been slightly controversial!

Glowplugs wise the Novarossi plugs have always been garbage - in Europe most of us use O.S. plugs in Nova engines and have done for many many years. The biggest thing for me is rods and bearings....

HaulinBass 08-20-2020 09:12 AM

what os plug is close to a nova 6 or 7? well looks like im going to ielasi or VS racing next season either way

Before I switched to O.S. I had been using O.S. plugs on the Nova motors, going back to the Virtus. IIRC the one to use was #8, I use #7 on the O.S. motors. You can get the GSR plugs from desoto racing, same thing
