Any findings?

What's the difference between the CL motors and Mito motors?

Do you mean the Ielasi Tuned CL engines vs Mito? What exact NR engines are you wanting to compare with the Mito?

The Lelasi tuned CL motor.

And which Mito motors, there are many different models.

The 9CL is basically a modified ISON21, not sure if all chosen materials are the same but it is a 14mm crankshaft with a 9 port sleeve, normal long stroke 16.8x16.2 and a standard head.

The Mito7 and Mito9 are based on the Keep-on engine, so a 14.5mm with an xtra long stroke (17.2x15.8), special 14.5 bearing and a lowered head.

The Mito9C and Mito7C are basically based on the older Flash. 14.5mm crankshaft, normal long stroke (16.8x16.2) and if I am right a normal 14.5mm bearing

The Mito 35WC is a re-develloped Mito9C sharing some designs with the 9CL like the new flow channels in the backplate.

Only the timings of the 9CL I have meassured and they are insane for normal consumer Novarossi specs.

Thanks Roelof. I had no clue there were that many different versions of the Mito line. Which one would you say is the newer motor of the Mitos'?

Would you consider that the 9cl have the same performance as any of of the Mitos'? I have not heard of the CL line of .12 and .21 motors till recently and was curious on the performance. I wasn't sure if it was more of a sport motor or a full on racing motor.

The XL stroke engines, in my opinion, were not Novarossi's finest hour. Thats why the WC engines went back to the 'normal Long Stroke' configuration. The Ielasi Tuned 9CL-WC (the 9CL is an Ielasi Tuned specification) is an epic engine and is quicker than a customer Mito 35WC. Go with with the Ielasi or Mito 35WC engine and you'll be fine.

Roelof 10-09-2016 11:58 PM

Yep, it looks like Novarossi is going back to basics with their normal long stroke and normal bearings. As Dan says, the 35WC or the 9CL are the best choise at this moment.

I have modified and dyno tested the Mito 35 9 port and its a monster...most powerful .21 I have ever tested....I would put it head to head against any engine in the world ..... If anyone is interested in trying one please message me, if your the right driver we can put you onto my Team and give you the appropriate discounts.... Engine is a monster and possibly makes too much power for racing !

Anybody have a used piston and sleeve for a 35 plus 21 or flash special they're willing to sell by any chance?

Novarossi C5tgf, C6tgf, C7tgf, all work fine.
I usually end up running the C6tgf in the Mito.

rick oxley 11-29-2016 11:37 AM

anyone else having a bad time with engines returned to novarossi.
returned my mito 35 after a replacement conrod failed on the advice of my
contrys distributor saying worst case i would have my old engine back within
a week that was over 2 months ago and still no reply from novarossi
now i know why everyone in the uk runs o.s. engines.
