Yes, i have two, one Nova and one Rex, both have same piston anliner, BUT the REX also have the epoxy filling in the crankshaft.

Nova are NSR 12S3, REX is RER3

I have a Rex and the sleeve does look like the JP FX but mine does not have the silicone filling. It's wierd that your's does.

So it has little tear drop cuts on the porting and undercuts on the mail inlet?

Can you upload a pic?

How can i tell if i order a new typre of NSR it has this liner and not the old one?

Cheers

So back to the original question. What have Novarossi done to the liner of the NSR? Is it any different from the old one?

Cheers

The pic may well be what you say. My apologies, I didn't mean to mislead.

To clarify, the pic was intended to illustrate the "fanged" sleeve as distinct from the old sleeve and our NSR looks exactly like it. Yes, it has the same tear drop cuts etc.
No, I didn't take any timing measurements off the pic.

Ours has two brands on the head: "NSR3" and "RACE"

It is the Rex ReR3

SalvadoriRacing 08-27-2004 06:53 PM

is it a mario rossi version???

do you know if the Re3 comes with the silicone filled crankshaft??

Racing4Evo 08-27-2004 07:15 PM

No, it is a stock ReR3. I have not heard of any mario rossi rex .12 engines. The only one's I have seen are .21 size.

SalvadoriRacing 08-27-2004 07:28 PM

thanks Racing4Evo ,

I suppose the Re3 version comes with the same crankshaft because I checked the pricelist and the crankshaft code is the same for both Re3 and ReR3 engines.....

could you please post some pics of your engine??????

ziggy12345 08-28-2004 12:04 AM

Hi

I did some digging. and got an answer from Novarossi

"Only the NRS-NSR12-S3 is equipped with idm style porting...."

So its available on the 3 port engine.

Cheers
