the rear main bearing size for a 35+21 novarossi engine is 14.5mm inside dia and 26mm outside dia and 6mm wide and front bearing for the 35+21 is 7mm inside dia 19mm outside dia and 5mm wide the front is a special size only the 35plus and i think the nova plus3c 7 port 21 onroad engine and the plus 2 359 engine all should have a 5mm wide front bearing. All the off road engines 21 size will use a 7mm inside dia 19mm outside dia and 6mm wide front bearing. Regards Jeremy.
Im not shore if i miss read your post are you looking to get sizes on the balls only?? or the bearing sizes?? |
hi sirio,
i mean the balls only ;) ;) dieter |
I'm would think there is no set sizes as each bearing would have the balls picked to minamize the tolarences for each bearing. If i was going to do what your thinking of doing i would buy a brand new bearing remove the cage from the bearing and remove the balls. Then i would take them to the best quality bearing shop you know of that would sell high quality pricshion ball's for bearings and get them to mike them and let them hand slelect the ball to suite that pitcular bearing. There are 2 major probs with doing this your self you could make the tolarences too low causeing the bearing to tighten up when the engine is at running temp. Or the tolarences may be to low causeing excess movement. But befor you try id have an email to as many bearing manufacturs as posable like boca Tko acerbearing. and ask them some tech info questions. They should be able to ancer your question better. I have thought about doing it but your almost playing with fire an less its done properly you could distroy your engine. Let me know how you go Best Regards Jeremy.

i will be starting to racing soon and i am new to the hobby i have a kyosho rrr. will the novarossi .12 engines be easy to tune for me?
|
they're about the same as any other engine. do yourself a favor and only buy a new engine and get someone talented to do the baseline tune the first time so you only have to move it slightly on different days.

Will a NSR12 (3port) Piston/cyl/rod combo be able to fit straight into my N12 LS5? Bore and stroke seem the same, or will this not work? Just looking into for re-build spares to stock up.
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. it's impossible because LS engines comes with newer crankcase, combustion chamber and sleeve.........the cranck case is higher, and to make the combustion chamber and sleeve fit the new cranckcase then they both are longer than they were in previous engines...... only carburettor, backplate, head, bearings, shaft, conrod and piston are the same......... |
Brilliant mate, thanks thats all i needed to know...thanks for the quick reply.
There's one on ebay for £19 so thought i'd try grab a bargin, ah well maybe not! Just wanted to keep it in in case i needed to rebuild. One more question i asked earlier on this page...will a newer head of the Plus 12-3 range fit on to my LS5? hate the purple and like the lower head look. |

.21 engines + 30% + 7Tf : 0.3 + 0.1 ( quite safe ); 0.3 + 0.2 ( safe ); 0.3 + 0.3 ( very safe ). 0.3 is original shim ( silver ). Pick your cards ......... I prefer very safe rather than getting a melting coil situation.,,,,,,,, sucks man !!! |
i own an old NSR12S5 engine with about a gallon run through it. the engine runs good, idles well and temp is good (230-240F).
my concern is that there would be times were coming from a curve going mid throttle and going to a straight, the engine suddenly dies when i squeez full throttle. what do you guys think is the problem here. definitely not the glow plug as i've change to new plugs and same problem... using tornado 25% fuel. also, will any nova .12 conrod fit to this engine? TIA... :) |
