does anyone have any information on the engine above?
it has m-rossi engraved on the head and looks heavily modified inside.
crank is ported and has lead weights in it as well.

i wouldnt mind a part number for new piston/sleeve/rod that would be great

only 2 more transfer ports then the 12-3CT.

It's not on the NOVAROSSI website because it's not race legal. (ifmar/femca/EFRA etc.)

But these engines are now replaced with latest Plus 12 3 SCT, which changes crank to 11.9mm OD...they do not show on the web page yet

The 5SCT doesn't appear either, bu t as said before it has 5 ports instead of 3, but are not legal for sanctioned races, unless in an open class.

The HP quoted is way off the mark. The highest HP recorded for any .12 engine is 1.15 for the CRF wasp. I have no idea where they get a figure like 1.68HP.

why you think it's way off??
on the other hand you can think that the CRF underpowered.

NOVAROSSI power quotes come from benchruns with the best combination of header&pipe.
and we all know that makes a world of difference.
If somebody builds a engine bench to measure power with any factory support it will finacially impossible to test all the engines with their best set up combinations.

Although I am not that experienced and not qualified to answer, but I don't think a highly reputable brand such as Novarossi is going to publish a figure regarding their product which is incorrect.. Please excuse my humble opinion :blush: ..

Like Team Novarossi said, I'm positive that their engines have undertaken many test to prove their potential hp output. Besides, I really don't think the CRF has that much power to even come close to the Novas..

OSTZP Quoted Power Output = 1.35HP Actual measured =0.78

NSR12S3 Quod Power Output 1.52HP Actual measured = 0.85

Sirio EVOIII Quoted = 1.62 Actual measured = 0.9

These are figures from ACTUAL Dyno runs

here's youre answer why theres a difference in power output.
The difference in power output is ...as i see it: they don't have the latest&powerful exhaust systems.
NOVAROSSI/Sirio/OS/etc. has.

If you run a .21 (for instance a 35+) with a 2006 you get a resonable speed&power.
the 2006 is released somewhere around 2002 or so.
When you mound a 2052 pipe you get far more power from youre engine.
I don't have hard HP results...only laptime ;)
If you get a lower laptime with a different pipe you have more power!

This is the real reason why manufacturers claimed Hp don't match real dyno tests...the most reliable source for real Hp comes from Nytrodyne Systems tests, because all engines are tested in equal enviroment conditions and using SAE correction factors, which gives us a real comparison table.

The Murnan Modified Sirio Evo 3 was not an STI. It was an old Evo 3. It hit 1.10 HP on the dyno with 31.60 oztq. The Murnan Modified Novarossi LS3 2007 updated edition just hit 1.15 HP with 33.41 oz. tq. :eek: :eek: With a very linear powerband. The Murnan Modified +12-3SCT just hit on 1.07 HP with 31.19 oztq.
