I actually talked to the ROAR fuel tech director about this yesterday. He measures the same way, not by how much stinger is exposed outside the pipe. Apparently, the 1050 has too short of a stinger even when measured for total length. I have told O.S. about the ROAR rule, we'll see if anything gets changed for next year.

I guess ROAR's tech guys at this year's national championships were wrong. I questioned them heavily on it. They even got the rulebook out. Not surprised. DAWN!!!!

Hey guys, aside from the MSR pipe and the 1050, any other you have tried? I read a few posts back that some had tried the 2630, I guess I'll start there.

Regarding glowplugs, can someone make a side-by-side comparison of P7 vs RP7 glow plugs aside from price? I don't want to assume that since they cost more, they are better. Look at novarossi ultra plugs, they cost alot more, yet I dont see them anymore for purchase because normal were better.

The RP7 has a slightly heavier element. It lasts longer and seems to be more durable. The heat range is almost identical. I ran them all this summer and had no problems.

What temperature range are you guys getting with your xz motors?
Im running a P7 plug and I register temps of 110-120 degrees celcius ... but if i lean it out, i get heaps better performance but temperatures reach 120-130 ... is this considered safe still? Ive heard of others running their motors even higher around the 140-150 range ... with still a nice thin trail of smoke
