Murnan Modified Motors

Keep in mind that they are also venturis. The carb should have one of them installed. If you are after max power, the larger one is usually the way to go (not allways), but use one or the other. Never run without. You will loose the venturi altogether.

I have no problem with questions, and very rarely do I get pissed off.
The RB did make more HP when compared to the Red Dot on my dyno. (The RB has a little less torque). It shows on the track too. The Picco makes gobs of power immediately, and then goes flat on a long straight, although the 2617 pipe does help with top end on the Picco a little. The RB is a little smoother than the Picco, and will pass it down the straight. Even with the tallest gearing on the Picco.
If I remember correctly I got about 1.14 hp with torque in the 37-38 OzIn with the Red Dot. I got about 1.25hp with the R3 with about 36 OzIn of torque. The RB made it’s peaks higher in the rpm range. Somewhere around 40K with the RB, and a few thousand less with the Red Dot.
Have you tried the R3 yet.
I can assure you that there is more to making a great race engine than peak torque, or HP #’s on a dyno. I can make dyno monster engines that make insane power and are still driveable, but fuel mileage goes wayside. I strive to make my modified engines the best combination of power, reliability, good runtime, easy to tune, and all with a good powerband.
Runtime is critical in On Road Racing. It is difficult to finish a 5 minute qualifier with a lot of the fast engines today. The Red Dot gets a little better fuel mileage than the R3, but both will make 5 minutes OK. If you get the tune spot on.
Although I do offer those 4 minute engines to customers who do not care about runtime.

Thanks for the answer !
I know your dyno and a X-Dyno are two totally different machines, so I wasn't comparing numbers between two different systems ...I just was referring to the fact that on all the .12 engines I have seen tested on a X-Dyno the Picco was so far the best I have seen..... and I am most definitely speaking of comparing dynoes and dynoes only LOL , i own neither the Picco JL or the R3.........I do wish I could see a X-Dyno report on a R3 tho.......... When I sounded skeptical of the R3 making much more peak HP it was more out of surprise at how strong these little .12 engines are these days..the JL did 1.13 on the X-Dyno which is huge IMHO for that system so for the R3 to be even stronger is pretty crazy........

Uriah ( I hope I spelled that correctly) were you testing a EVO 2 or a EVO 3... It has been brought to my attention that he EVO 3 is detuned from the EVO 2, and the new EDO modified EVO 3 has the same timing as the EVO 2, but the regualr EVO 3 has the timing backed down a few degrees......Anyways just curious if you tested EVO 2 or EVO 3
