i raced my gotech 21 7 port for the first time today. after run in i changed the plug, checked internals, all ok . problem was i didnt make 7 mins first heat, was still on the rich side. i leaned the top end a bit to just be making 7 mins, was still a bit rich. i find that there was a very fine limit of tuned on the rich side, to being too lean. i blew a plug after 6 in mark, came in and i still had half a tank. this was leaning the top end 1/8th of a turn. so i richened it back up , and struggled to make run time. ill measure where the needles are at tomorrow, see if im in the general area. :)
when tuned on the rich side, it had good top end but lacked a bit on the bottom. im using the std restrictor that came with the engine, how ever i do have 4 different sizes to try. thanks. |

Wow I didn't know this thread was still active, right on.
PattonJR, the engines can be a little finicky and down on runtime until they break in. Its ok to run them in the 250f range at this time as long as you don't hold with WOT for long stretches until the engine get about 1-1.5 gallons thur it. Just go easy on it remember its still in the break in process. |

Finally got my Go.28 3p dialed in at our first meet for the year, man this thing tears some serious ass...! Ive had most other BB's and this thing is insane, it scares me to imagine how the .28 pro motor go's...

Hello from france,
here's a little review of the Go Tuned. http://www.automodelisme.com/modules...wtopic&t=31126 Au revoir |
2 degree increase to crank rotor duration is not much of a modification..

I am considering the Go-Tech 7port race motor for use in my Inferno GT for on-road racing. Have the carb leaking issues been resolved?
Is the bottom end on these engines enough to power a buggy based GT out of corners with authority? Would the 5 port be a better choice? Is there an on-road specific .21 version now? Should I go for the Turbo button version? Any advice is welcome. |
needle settings
was wondering if anyone could tell me the factory needle settings for the go 3 port standard engine.thanks jeremy
