i m not refering to HSN, i mean the mixture needle, on the carb, behind the LSN.

stock shimming is fine for 20%,stock plug #6 is great.if track you run on has long straight(over 100 ft) go to a #7 plug.try to stick to os plugs, they may cost a little more but are well worth it

Is it typical of OS motors to have what appears big end of conrod play? A friend brought a brand new OS TZ to the track and showed a few of us this motor and at TDC rotated the shaft and it looked like about 10 degree play/slop. A few have snapped rods after run in not only TZ.

I know the OS engines seem to have a really tight piston/sleeve. Seems like if you aren't careful about the break-in, it could be very hard on a conrod. I don't think I would use the WOT on this engine. I have mine here new and it's really tight. I will definitely be heating it up with the gun first.

THE OS NEEDS ABOUT 12-14 BREAKIN TANKS BEFORE THEY LOSEN UP.I'VE HAD 3 OF THEM AND LOVE THEM!JUST TAKE YOUR TIME BREAKING THEM IN AND YOU'LL BE FINE.

Thanks also for reply Terry. This engine was brand new and no fuel through it, straight from the hobby shop. Excessive play doesn't make sense to me. Is it normal for OS to be like that with their higher spec motors? Also 12 - 14 tanks run; in how many tanks life left in the motor with your experience after good run in G?
