Thoughts on the Mephisto .12?
#1
I’m currently putting together my ride (Homestead will be my home track), and as I have always had good experiences with Nova, I’m planning on outfitting my 750 with the Mephisto. Heck, I’ve already got the pipe and the 41613S and L manifolds for tuning.
Anyone have any experience with this engine yet? I know that it’s pretty new and all, but the fact that OS seems to be the darling across the hobby of late, I’m kind of wondering if the purple camp has lost its luster a bit? Anyway, any feedback for this poor guy who’s trying to catch up on almost 20 years of advancements in RC technology would be much appreciated.

We bought a mephisto .12 for a fellow racer for Turkish nationals. Honestly I thought our modded Gimars could outrun his stock mephisto. I was wrong... Where the other engines run out of breath, mephisto seems to rev a little more and you can clearly see it down the straight. Clearly a good engine. Make sure you get a good pipe as well. We usually use hipex 2669 with c manifold.

Thanks for the information! Well, I already purchased the Nova 51615, as regardless of whether I got the Mephisto or the Mito, it is the same recommended pipe (and got the two recommended Nova manifolds to boot). I will, however keep the Hipex in mind, as I’ve seen that name pop up in quite a few threads already.
