Any break in suggestions for the Axial .12RR? Which pipe will bring out the power of this engine? Any help is appreciated :)

Break in procedure. ( this may be your easiest break in ever  )
Idle 30 sec then put on track for 3 tank @ medium speed. let it cool, check compression, sometimes it may be ready for race tune. Then 3 more tanks with short interval of full throttle, then engine ready for race tune.
At all time, just make sure pretty of smoke, Temp 80 to 100 for breaking in. Race tune up to 120C for hot asia condition.

From torque to top speed
Novarossi 2601 (middle size 6 fins manifold)
JP 2620
HA Optimized 2613 ( or Mugen 2613)
Novarossi 2615 Turbo ( with 6 fins manifold)

Thanks Chris! I am using the RB EFRA Pipe with short conical manifold, you think this will do? Please send me axial sticker  Let you know as soon as I get the engines...

I used manifold come with the Kit. ( did they have different size, I would like to try a longer one if available)
I suggest going 0.3mm head shim first, then 0.25 I think is the lowest you can use. Sorry I have not measure the total head clearance on this engine yet.

What Plug were you using Dieter?

I tested back to back yesterday with JP 2620 and HA 2613 pipe. The HA have more Topend but JP 2620 have better torque.

My setting yesterday (but I feel I can still get bit more out of the Axial)
25% Tornado, Air Temp 36C, Humidity 80%
0.4mm head shim with JP 2620, standard Manifold
0.35mm head shim with HA 2613

Somehow, I dont like to use a short manifold on this engine. I tried the MAX and Novarossi, both short manifold and they dont work at all on this engine.
I dont have item number off my head but the number ends with "C "

hi chris,
yes the have longer manifold, the ha pipe ist with the kit manifold in my eyes a very short pipe, and works well with engines with a great outlethigh.

i use odonnell odo 97t or odo 99t when it is hot.

i have measured many engines and there are big differences in total head clearerence.

how can I find the longer manifold? I bought my set from Geoff from UK.

97 or even 99... thats too much. I suggest 77 odonnel if you using 16%.
