Aj runs it in his truggy with a 2090 pipe.. Super smooth, plenty of power.. We have pretty big jumps out of corners at Fear farm, no issues..

The 2090 just works. S. Bess said it. Its the go to pipe to get if you running teh xzb block.

So 2060 very punchy on the bottom
2090 very smooth and easy on the wheel spin.
Dibble!! Long time old friend. Thanks for the name drop sir

2090 is still the best pipe OS makes unless you're running VZ-B engines, then it's the 2050 (if you can find them anymore!).

What are your guys final carb settings. Broke in my Spec III over the weekend and it was really super rich from factory. I put a half gallon of Bones 30/8 through the engine and now have a conservative rich race tune on it. Engine runs around 220-225, plenty of smoke out the pipe, and idles all day long. It was around 60 degrees this weekend. Just a little curious as I had to lean the engine quite a bit to get it to even run.

You need to lean the top some more boss. Temp wise mine is 250 my dude in California run his around 260 bc of the lower head, but for you in Michigan cold heavy air.. You need to keep testing.. But temp is only for eyeball reference. tune for the track and how you like it to feel.

Also, mine ran rich for for some time. Maybe 1 gal or so.

Can't wait to try the new 22c carb put. Maybe we get back to the vspec 10+ min run times again..

Ordered this one should be here today.
LRP ZZ.21C CERAMIC LONG STROKE NITRO COMPETITION ENGINE.
Going in HB D8T Tessmann.

Im green to the hobby and have a few questions.

1, I want to start breaking it in tomorrow, it comes with the p3 plug and I ordered a p4 witch plug would be best for break in ?
2, Fuel Byron race 2500 gen 2, 11% oil. Is this a good blend for break in ?
Abiente temperature the next two days upper 80's low 90's 50% humidity.

3, I have read on this site that the engine leaves the factory with rich settings, any tips or settings would be great ?

I was planning on doing the heat cycling break in / Tessmann.

4, Ordered the Pro Tek 2090 from Amain is this the right pipe?
https://www.amainhobbies.com/protek-...k-2090/p301346

5, The pipe is coming next week, could I use a Nova 9901 & the 21 header for break in ?

Thanks guys I know it's a lot of questions.

I figured out the glow plug p3 is the hottest plug, and from reading the break in bible would be the right choice.

The engine just arrived and going over the instructions, is their no low speed needle adjustment ?

1, idle screw "Adjust ".
2, mid range needle "Adjust ".
3, Main speed needle high "Adjust".
4, Third needle (#4) Should always stay in the factory setting exactly flush with the carburetor body and should not be changed.

Thanks

Not trying to be an a**, but if you can't find the low speed needle...
A 400+ dollar engine might not be the right call...
get someone at your track to help you out so your new engine isn't ruined before it's broken in.

the low speed needle is always in the same position.
the mid range needle (#2) is the one you should not touch.

Good luck.

No worries boss. I have read so much about these engines and how one of the O.S. engines doesn't have a low speed needle. I also read of a new carb O.S. has. This engine is labeled markings makes no reference to a low speed needle, and yes I know we're the low speed is. O.S. instructions "Mid range needle #2 adjust the mid/low speed flow rate of the fuel CW for leaner and CCW for richer setting.

Now if I look like an a_ _ for asking questions so be it. I'm not wasting $416.00.
